1 Description It occurs as white, granular crystals or a white, crystalline powder.

(A) It gives the reaction of citrates.
(B) It gives the reactions of sodium.
3 Solubility it is one gram of the dihydrate dissolves in 1.5 ml of water at 25° and in 0.6 ml of boiling water. It is insoluble in alcohol.
4 Lead Not more than 2 mg/kg.
5 Alkalinity No pink color appears after addition of the phenolphthalein.
6 Water Between 10.0% to 13.0%.
7 Assay Not less than 99.0% and not more than 100.5% of C₆H₅Na₃O₇⋅2H₂O calculated on the anhydrous basis.

PACKAGING

MOLCIT® Na  is packed in HDPE bag or HDPE drum with double PE liners inside having bar-coded label and tamper-evident seal.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 3 years. Preserved in a tightly closed container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
